About Paul Mullaart 

I started painting twenty years ago, during my study Small Business and Retail Management at the Haarlem business
school. I started with a painting of an ocean wave I took from a windsurfing trip to Cape Town in South Africa. Soon I started
with abstract paintings and got the opportunity to exhibit them. With great success that encouraged me to make more paintings.
This resulted in a big exposition with ninety paintings. I sold a lot of them. It enabled me to start with photography.
I began working for a local newspaper, a news website and a glossy magazine. I enjoyed the journalistic work. Here I begun
with making portraits and reportages from events, weddings, festivals and concerts.
Then I discovered macro photographic. Armed with a macro lens I saw the beauty of small things like flowers and insects.
I joined the local artists group and exhibited regularly. When I moved to Portugal I started to contribute to divers websites and
got my own website. Here I can show case my work. I hope you like it.
